Classic Car Transport

Classics, project cars, barn finds and non-runners winched gently onto a tilt-bed and delivered with photos at both ends.

Car transport for cars that shouldn’t be driven

Whether it’s a freshly won auction lot with no MOT, a barn find with seized brakes, a restoration going to the paint shop or a prestige car you’d rather not put motorway miles on, the safest way to move it is on a trailer. Our tilt-bed transporter has a low loading angle for low-slung cars, an electric winch for non-runners, and wheel straps so the car is held by its tyres rather than by the suspension or bodywork.

What we move

  • Classic and vintage cars, including non-runners and rolling shells.
  • Project cars and barn finds — flat tyres and no brakes are fine with the winch and skates.
  • Kit cars, track cars and race cars to circuits and back.
  • Prestige and modern classics that shouldn’t rack up mileage.
  • Auction collections from the major UK sale rooms and online auctions.
  • Cars up to about 2,000 kg and 4.8 m long; larger cars on request.

Enclosed or open?

Our transporter is open, with a fitted cover available for the journey. For concours cars that must travel enclosed we can advise and arrange a suitable alternative rather than compromise.

Loading a classic

  1. Condition check

Walk-round photos and a note of existing marks before the car moves an inch.

  2. Load

Driven on if it runs, winched on with a wheel net if not. Skates for seized wheels. Sills and splitters protected on the tilt.

  3. Secure

Four wheel straps to rated points, handbrake on, in gear. No straps on the suspension, chassis or bodywork.

  4. Deliver

Steady driving, strap check after the first miles, unloaded onto your drive or into the workshop and signed for.

How much does classic car transport cost?

Per mile on the real route, all-in. Local moves typically from around £150; longer runs quoted per mile, with a discount if we can pair it with another job on the same route.

Can you collect from an auction house?

Yes. Send the lot number, buyer details and release window and we’ll deal with the sale room directly.

Is the car insured on your trailer?

Goods in transit cover is in place for every move; higher limits for high-value cars can be arranged when you enquire.

Can I ride along?

Usually yes, by arrangement — there’s a passenger seat available.
